Snapseed - App review

Let's face it. The amount of photo-editing apps on the Appstore is huge. Many people find themselves standing infront of it and asking themselves which app would be good to start with.
Snapseed claims to be a perfect post-processing app for beginners but also for more experienced people. So let's check the features out:

  • Auto Correct: Analyzes your photo and automatically adjusts color and exposure to perfection. Or swipe to fine tune until you're satisfied.
  • Tune Image: Adjust White Balance, Saturation, Contrast, Brightness, or try to create depth and vibrance atmosphere.
  • Crop: Remove unwanted areas of your photos and create a completely different image with the crop tool.

  • Black & White: Get a fine black and white look with this darkroom-inspired filters. Experiment with grain or choose a style perfectly for that nostalgic look.
  • Center Focus: Draw attention to your photo's subject by blurring the surrounding background.
  • Frames: Add borders to your photos by choosing a style, color and texture, or randomize your border with a simple tap.
  • Tilt & Shift: Create the classic compressed depth of field look of a miniature set or emulate the swings and tilts of a large format camera.
  • Drama: Add breathless style with a custom effect specifically tailored to your photos, ranging from subtle enhancements of textures to wildly creative and artistic effects.
  •  Selective Adjust: Make precise selections and enhancements to specific areas of your photos in seconds with Nik Software’s revolutionary U Point technology.

My experience and thoughts on Snapseed:

With its wide range of features, Snapseed is a powerful app that should be on every iPhoneographer's device. Even though its rather expensive with 3,99€/4,99$ its totally worth the money. It does alot of things very well and is kept really easy at the same time. Also, the intuitive controls are well explained and easy to handle.
